Special high grade aluminium

For most types of bakeware we use a special grade of aluminium, developed on our behalf, designed to withstand the long hours at high temperatures in baking ovens and repeated heating-cooling cycles. When comparing the strength for different grades of aluminium it is important to realise that in general, producers' specifications for strength are based on the temper the material has when it comes from the manufacturing process. After the material has been in use for some time in baking conditions the strength will be much reduced unless it is specially made for use at high peak temperatures and repeated heating-cooling cycles. With the Runex special grade of aluminium your bakeware should last much longer.

Peak Temperature (dgr C)

Peak temperature heat resistance

The RUNEX special grade aluminium withstands higher peak temperatures without losing its strength. While most other types of aluminium will start losing strength at peak temperatures of around 300°C the RUNEX bakeware will remain strong until the temperature exceeds 400°C.

As most types of "Teflon-type" coatings are cured at temperatures of around 400°C, it is important that you should know that the strength and thus the life length of the bakeware will be much reduced if this coating is applied to ordinary aluminium.

Long term heat resistance

Ordinary baking temperatures and the repeated heating-cooling cycle when baking, gradually reduce the strength and thus the life length of the bakeware unless a special grade of heat resistant aluminium is used.

Repeated baking at 225°C gradually reduces the strength for ordinary aluminium - but not for the Runex special grade aluminium.
